Photographer Aaron Ray Williams, from Salt Lake City, came down and showed the students how to take better photographs as well as finding and making a subject more interesting. We have enjoyed Mr. Williams time here at North Elementary.
Mr. Williams will also be working with Beryl Elementary. The students have produced some spectacular photos. Here are some examples of their work.

Kindergarten Students Can Draw Houses
This morning the North elementary kindergarten students learned how to tell if a painting was realistic or abstract. After this discussion we looked at a pastel painting by Beverly Buchanan and walked through drawing a house in the style of Mrs. Buchanan. The students drew a triangle first and then added a rectangle underneath. The next step was to draw the roof line. We drew one line and then a parallel line a little bit longer. We connected these and drew the front of the house. They had the Buchanan print to look at and suggested we add a chimney and a porch. We also drew in the boards she showed on the side of the house. The students used markers in bright colors and finished with a beautiful drawing.
